Description
This rare ammonoid plaque interest not only because of the presence of a beautifully preserved example of the Anetoceras ammonite, but also for the inclusion of a partial Lobobacrites specimen too. The bactrid proto-ammonoid Lobobacrites is long and straight, whilst the Anetoceras is coiled in the more familiar form, not as tightly as the later ammonites, but nonetheless more recognizable. The contrast of the fossils against the matrix also adds to the beauty and visual interest of the piece, making it perfect as a talking point on any shelf setting.
