Petrified Wood

Description

This large slab of petrified wood features strong patterning with a wonderful natural colouring of pale yellow merging into bright orange outer rings. The ring lines are quite clear and this specimen is from a full trunk or branch – not a fragment. It has also been polished on both sides. Fossil wood is extremely durable and hard material, and is very resistant to even steel knife scratching. It therefore can be quite a dramatic and functional piece – like a cheese board!
