Mosasaur Rooted Tooth In Phosphate Matrix

Description

This very interesting specimen is part of a composite fossil which has occurred naturally.  A prominent feature is the Mosasaur Tooth, but there are quite a few pieces of jawbone, teeth and other bony structures (such as pieces of backbone) also embedded in the rock.  On the reverse of the specimen there are some very small claws showing in the rock and the bones of the tail of a rather small animal showing in good detail.  The exposed Mosasaur Tooth enamel is in quite good condition and is  eyecatching, but the extra details in this rock specimen fire the imagination and create interest.
