Description
Black Uruguayan Amethyst. Discovered in 2012 and named Black Amethyst. These beautiful formations are made of clusters of amethyst points radiating out like little florets. They range in colour from diamante black, grey, mauve, and lilac. These are very unusual formations of amethyst, and many of them would be formed from stalactite phenomena.
This beautiful piece has sparkling jet black and grey crystals that would have originally hung down as curtain like stalactites. The crystals are enclosed in basalt. This specimen has fine sugar sized grey crystals alongside corresponding black crystals. Parts of the crystal have jet black drussy crystals. This a smaller specimen and would add intense conversationalist interest if set as a dining room feature alongside a complementing flower arrangement.
