This is a fantastic example of the gray matrix where orthoceras and ammonite fossil are so densely packed it becomes like a surreal fossil landscape. A very visual piece there is a contrasting ammonite raised off centre. A functional piece it would also double as a wonderful talking point on any table or living area.
Unlike much material from this area, this piece has been hand polished to a high shine WITHOUT a varnish finish.
